Born on 16 August 1963 in Mufulira, Kalusha Bwalya was named African Footballer of the Year in 1988 by France Football Magazine and was voted 14th in the 1996 FIFA World Player of the Year Awards.
Kalusha Bwalya is the long standing leader and leading goal scorer for the Zambian National Team. From 2005 he was appointed as head coach for the Zambian Team.
Bwalya played in six African Cup of Nations and is the Zambian coach for the 2006 kick off. He currently serves as a standing committee member at FIFA and the Confederation of African Football and as the vice president for the Football Association of Zambia.
Bwalya has played for many clubs and has achieved the African Footballer of the year, rebuilt a Zambian Football team after the Gabon Crash, captained the Zambian Football team, and coached the Zambian Football Team.
