Born in Ifrane Morocco on 16 November 1971, Mustapha Hadji is a Moroccan international football player.
This attacking midfielder began playing football in Creutzwald, a small town in France. He signed his first contract with AS Nancy. In the mid 1990's Mustapha was offered a place in the French Junior National Team but opted to play for Morocco.
After playing for Nancy, Hadji joined Sporting Lisbon, then Deportivo and then with Coventry City he became very well known. After an impressive 1998 FIFA World Cup™ where he was named African Footballer of the Year, Hadji became a coveted player.
After Coventry was relegated in 2001, Hadji joined Aston Villa, and then moved to Espanyol in Spain in 2004.
Mustapha has also played for A1 Ain FC in United Arab Emirates and Saarbruecken FC in Germany.
Moustapha is involved in Partnership with plans to invest in Morocco, to create opportunities for the local people; and thus alleviate poverty in his native land.
