Are you coming to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™?
There'll be plenty of exciting things happening across South Africa in the months of June and July. Here's a small taste of what to expect in the country's top host cities.
Although it'll be winter in Cape Town, you may still get some beautifully crisp, clear days. It might be too chilly for a swim but there's still loads to do in the Mother City between matches. Here's our pick of Cape Town's top experiences.
The Mount Nelson Hotel's tea buffet (served daily between 14h30 and 17h30) is one of Cape Town's 'must-do' experiences. Now, in celebration of the soccer World Cup™, the Mount Nelson's team of specialist pastry chefs will include a selection of sweet and savoury items themed according to the soccer teams or countries playing in Cape Town.
Spier, in the beautiful Cape Winelands has put together an exciting line up of match-themed dinners during June and July. Interested? Best book now because they're selling out fast! Here's Spier's full calendar of events.
Experience the thrilling atmosphere of the 2010 Football World Cup™ at the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront's Sports Bar on the harbours edge of the V&A Waterfront.
If you don't have tickets, another great option is The Venue on the first floor of the Grand Daddy Hotel. With a big screen, comfy seating, food and drinks, you'll be watching the teams battle it out in style.
Johannesburg is often overlooked, in favour of South Africa's more scenic coastal cities, which is a shame as there's plenty to do in the City of Gold. Read about why Jo'burg is a destination worth exploring.
And if your idea of paradise is shopping up a storm; head for Sandton.
It would be a shame to visit South Africa and not go on safari. This is a big country, and while Jo'burg may look quite close to the Kruger Park it's a good 5 - 6 hour drive away. So why not take off some time after your matches, and make the most of your holiday in Africa.
