Win in Africa with Africa

"Win in Africa with Africa” is the first project of this alliance. The project was initiated by the President of the Republic of South Africa Thabo Mbeki and by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter.

The project's intention is to ensure that the whole African continent benefits from the exposure granted by the greatest individual sporting event of the world during the four year period in the run up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa ™.

This project will be coordinated by the South African government, the South African Organizing Committee and FIFA, and will seek the partnership of international institutions and NGOs in order to implement the various specific objectives that it has.

The idea is to give something back to Africa, a continent which has produced some of the greatest football talents in history, and leave a legacy not only in African football, but also in cultural, social and development areas.

The keystones in which the project is based are:

• To ensure that the whole African continent will benefit from the impact of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.
  
• To project in the world positive messages about Africa.
  
  
• To make a difference for African football, by building new artificial fields, supporting the national leagues, and training African football executives.
  
  
• To aid the host country and neighbouring countries in the establishment of World Cup preparation camps.
  
  
• To use the potential of football for development, social, health and community issues by empowering the local organisations working in these areas.
  
  
• The organisation of the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2009 in South Africa.
  
  
• The decision of the FIFA Executive Committee to stage the FIFA U-17 World Cup and the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Africa in 2009.
  
  
• To develop sport medicine in Africa.
  
  
• To reinforce peace and nation building.
