Zambia's tented camps and safari lodges give you the chance to explore incredible wilderness areas whilst staying in comfortable accommodation with attentive service, good food, and some of the best guiding in Africa.

Unique and intimate camps in the South Luangwa, Lower Zambezi and Kafue National Park are usually owner run and managed by people who are passionate about Zambia's unspoilt landscapes and fantastic game viewing, and take great pride in sharing it with you.

Deeper in Zambia's parks are remote bushcamps where you can truly have an authentic safari experience. Although not as luxurious, this accommodation still offers good quality linen, nice warm showers, tasty food and, best of all, incredible locations far off the beaten track.

Near Victoria Falls, along the bank of the Zambezi River intimate safari lodges, private Zambia villas and magnificent hotels. Some so close they have private footpaths down to the Falls while further upstream romantic suites are tucked into the bush, with peaceful river views.

We've recommended a few of our favourite places to stay in Zambia, but if you don't see exactly what you're looking for, contact one of our Southern Africa specialists who can carefully select accommodation and tailor-make a Zambian holiday for you.

We Recommend:

Chongwe River Camp has a peaceful setting on the confluence of 2 rivers in the Lower Zambezi National Park. Stay in comfortable tents on the shady riverbank, and be looked after by people who are clearly passionate about what they do. This is a game rich area and, as there are no fences, elephant often wander through the camp.

Puku Ridge, a luxurious tented camp, overlooks a huge floodplain in the South Luangwa National Park. Puku Ridge has a warm, relaxed atmosphere and 7 massive tents each with a sitting area, full bathroom with bathtub, indoor and outdoor shower, and a private deck looking out across the floodplain where antelope often graze.

Tafika Lodge is a small, seasonal camp with a homely feel. One of the real highlights of Tafika is the wonderful selection of bush activities; in addition to game drives and walking safaris, you can go mountain biking or take to the skies in a microlight - two unique ways to view the abundant wildlife in the South Luangwa National Park.

The Royal Livingstone is set on the banks of the Zambezi River; a short stroll from Victoria Falls along a beautiful, private footpath. Zebra, vervet monkeys and even the occasional elephant are often seen on the hotel grounds, and the famous river deck is the perfect place to soak up the thundering view - cocktail in hand.

Chongwe River Camp was one of my favourite lodges in the Lower Zambezi region. It felt like a home away form home and the staff were really friendly and accommodating - African safari expert, Bonita Twigg
