Zambia is an excellent game viewing destination as much of its wilderness is still untouched and unspoilt. In the national parks, where measures have been taken to curb poaching, the wildlife is flourishing, making this an ideal African safari destination.
Zambia's vegetation can support a high density of game in most parts of the country. The plentiful game means there is also a good population of predators. Lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and even wild dog are found throughout Zambia.
Elephant and buffalo are found in vast numbers in the protected national parks, and in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park at Livingstone and Kafue National Park there are white rhino.
Giraffe, wildebeest, zebra are also widespread in Zambia. Impala are the most common of the antelope species, especially in the drier areas, with the lechwe and puku antelope more common in the wetter regions.
