Zambia's Towns & Cities

About 40 percent of Zambia's population lives in urban areas, with 10 percent of the total population concentrated in Lusaka, the capital city.

Other important towns in Zambia include the four main towns of the Copperbelt Province: Kitwe, Kabwe, Mufulira and Ndola. These four towns are home to about 15 percent of Zambia's people.

Of all Zambia's towns, the one best known to travellers is Livingstone, situated about 10 kilometres from the Victoria Falls. Although Livingstone itself is not very large or busy, it is the base for anyone coming to Zambia to see the falls.
