Lunga River Lodge lies in Zambia's Busanga Plains, which cover an area of approximately 750 sq km and are skirted by the Lunga River on their eastern side. This perennial river is one of the 3 main tributaries into the Busanga Plains. Situated on the banks of this magnificent river is Lunga River Lodge.

The Plains are home to thousands of red lechwe, ubiquitous puku, stately roan and sable as well as the diminutive oribi and duiker. The Defassa waterbuck, herds of tsessebe, hartebeest, zebra and buffalo make for a full set of antelope. This wealth of game on the plains is also a big attraction for predators, including leopards, wild dogs, cheetah and prides of lion up to 20 strong.

Activities include game drives, walking safaris, guided canoe & boating trips as well as fishing. Night drives provide the added excitement of the nocturnal wonders of the area. For those interested in birding, Kafue National Park has 491 species of birds, including endemics such as Chaplin's Barbet, and specialist birding walks and drives are offered.

Lunga River Lodge offers a same day laundry facility at a charge, and there are no child restrictions at this camp.

Lunga River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Lunga River which lies in the north-eastern part of the 22 500 square km Kafue National Park, which is one of the largest national parks in Africa and which is fed by the perennial Lunga, Lufupa and Kafue Rivers.

The dining and bar area at Lunga River Lodge is on a timber deck overlooking the Lunga River.

The camp offers a fully stocked bar with a good selection of South African wines.

Lunga River Lodge has 6 spacious thatched rooms with private decks that overlook the river, ensuring breathtaking views. A maximum of 12 guests can be accommodated at any one time.

The camp offers twin beds that can be converted to doubles if so needed.
