Shumba Bush Camp lies in Zambia's Busanga Plains, which cover an area of approximately 750 sq km and are skirted by the Lunga River on their eastern side. This perennial river is one of the 3 main tributaries into the Busanga Plains. Situated on the banks of this magnificent river is Lunga River Lodge.

The Plains are home to thousands of red lechwe, ubiquitous puku, stately roan and sable as well as the diminutive oribi and duiker. The Defassa waterbuck, herds of tsessebe, hartebeest, zebra and buffalo make for a full set of antelope. This wealth of game on the plains is also a big attraction for predators, including leopards, wild dogs, cheetah and prides of lion up to 20 strong.

Shumba Bush Camp places great emphasis on the 'guided' experience, which are led by qualified, enthusiastic people with in-depth knowledge of the area and its wildlife. Activities include game drives, walking safaris, guided canoe & boating trips as well as fishing. Night drives provide the added excitement of the nocturnal wonders of the area.

Shumba Bush Camp offers a same day laundry facility at a charge, and there are no child restrictions at this camp.

Shumba Bush Camp is situated in the Busanga Plains which lies in the northern part of the 22 500 square km Kafue National Park, one of the largest national parks in Africa and which is fed by the perennial Lunga, Lufupa and Kafue Rivers.

The dining and bar area at Shumba Bush Camp are under a canopy of majestic trees. Dinners are served in a traditional style boma under the stars, overlooking the Busanga Floodplains or indoors.

The camp offers a fully stocked bar with a good selection of South African wines.

Shumba Bush Camp comprises 6 spacious luxury safari tents on raised platforms with breathtaking views of the surrounding plains. A maximum of 12 guests can be accommodated at any one time.

All the tents are en-suite and include an indoor and outdoor shower.

The camp offers twin beds that can be converted to doubles if so needed.
