Shumba Bush Camp lies in Zambia's Busanga Plains, which cover an area of approximately 750 sq km and are skirted by the Lunga River on their eastern side. This perennial river is one of the 3 main tributaries into the Busanga Plains. Situated on the banks of the river is Lunga River Lodge.
The Plains are home to thousands of red lechwe, ubiquitous puku, stately roan and sable as well as the diminutive oribi and duiker. You'll also find Defassa waterbuck, herds of tsessebe, hartebeest, zebra and buffalo.
This wealth of game on the plains is also a big attraction for predators including leopards, wild dogs, cheetah and prides of lion up to 20 strong.
Shumba Bush Camp places great emphasis on its 'guided' experiences which are led by qualified, enthusiastic people with in-depth knowledge of the area and its wildlife.
Activities include game drives, walking safaris, guided canoe & boating trips as well as fishing. Night drives provide the added excitement of the nocturnal wonders of the area.
