Kapani Lodge

An exclusive camp located on the banks of an ox-bow lake in South Luangwa.

  • Exclusive and Private - the lodge accommodates only 20 guests at a time.

  • Spectacular Game Viewing - the area is home to diverse species of fauna and flora.

  • Legacy of a Legend - founded by Norman Carr, pioneer of the Zambian walking safari.

Kapani Lodge is situated on one of the many ox-bow lakes in the South Luangwa region. The lodge is operated by Norman Carr Safaris, the legacy of Norman Carr, who dedicated his life to the development of the South Luangwa National Park.

The thatched lodge offers an elegant retreat in a prime game-viewing location. The main building houses the library and lounge, and dining and bar areas on a deck overlooking the lagoon where pods of hippo play. On a hot day, relax by the secluded pool at the far end of the camp.

Zambia's Luangwa Valley is regarded as the home of walking safaris. You will be accompanied by a trained guide, and a naturalist to ensure a truly thrilling experience. Game drives are taken in safari vehicles seating no more than four passengers - so everyone has a great view.

Norman Carr Safaris have various bush camps in the region, and it is recommended that you spend a few days at Kapani Lodge before, or after, visiting one of the four bush camps.
