These two small quaint towns are characterised by colourful markets and the magnificent Lake Mweru.

The shore is lined with huts, which unfortunately means that access to the water is limited. The lake is the main source of industry in the villages providing fish and the livelihood of most of the villagers.

The towns have only the most basic of facilities and the only reason to stop here is for fuel or to catch the ferry out to the two populated islands on the lake; Kilwa and Isokwe.
