• Natural hot spring - the unique hot tub owes its existence to the fact that Kafunta was built on top of a natural hot spring and offers a constant temperature of 38 degrees, complemented by stunning views over the flood plains & the Luangwa River.

• Pontoon - Kafunta River Lodge has its own pontoon crossing 5min from the lodge, an alternative to the main gate 10km North of the lodge.

Set in riverine forest on the banks of the Luangwa River, Kafunta River Lodge is comprised of 9 chalets, set on stilts, overlooking the South Luangwa National Park. Relax on your private veranda and let your senses come alive to the surroundings. Observe elephants crossing the river and giraffe browsing the trees; listen to the hippos' chorus and the birdsong.

You can take part in game drives, walking safaris and night drives, accompanied by experienced safari guides and discover the abundance of wildlife in the national park. The night drives offer the experience of viewing unique nocturnal creatures.

Between safari activities, relax back at the lodge and take a dip in the pool, or enjoy the panoramic view from the terrace bar whilst you sip a refreshing drink and partake in fine dining.

Central to the chalets is the spacious bar and dining area. Built around a semi-evergreen wild mango tree and thatched in the traditional style, it offers panoramic views over the Luangwa River and the South Luangwa National Park.

The 9 private chalets are built on raised wooden platforms under a thatched roof, the mahogany floors and walls give a natural beauty to the luxurious interiors.
