Nsefu

Secluded African lodge in untouched surroundings, with superb river views.

  • Photographic Safari - Zambia's first photographic camp, in an incredibly scenic location.

  • Private & secluded - set in the remote Nsefu sector, the camp only sleeps up to 12 guests.

  • Wildlife - spot a multitude of animals including most of Africa's 'Big 5' and over 400 bird species.

Nsefu is positioned on the banks of the Luangwa River, 12km North of Tena Tena. This was the first Zambian photographic camp, originally established in the 1950s, and was subsequently re-opened in 1999. The undeveloped Nsefu Sector offers the perfect location for a secluded and private African experience.

Standing on the terrace you can take in the scenic views and look out at grazing game. Leopards and hippos are two of the more common animals to be spotted, and the area hosts the highest density hippo population in Africa. Both daytime and nighttime game drives are offered, as well as walking safaris.

Overnight walking safaris through Luangwa's best riverine areas may be arranged. The walk takes you past lagoons and channels home to African plants, birds and animals - ending at the fly camp; a simple bush camp sleeping 4 people. The camp will be set up for your arrival, and offers an authentic African bush experience with well-equipped walk-in tents and a shower under a tree.
