Kalamu Tented Camp is perfectly situated on the banks of the Luangwe River overlooking a broad section of the river that is a popular crossing point for the Elephant population. With this and the rich vegetation around the river, you are sure to see a large variety of wildlife from the camp.

The camp consists of a dining and bar area under a canopy of trees, as well as a comfortable lounge. Here you can sit and listen to the laughter of the hippos echoing up and down the river, or browse through the reference library.

A fallen Zambian Fig Tree provides the camp with an unusual lookout point, from where you can gaze at the wonderful scenery offered by the Muchinga escarpment. You can also enjoy these views from the private plunge pool.

Among the many activities you can enjoy morning and night game drives. Kalamu Tented Camp is also famous for its guided game walks. If you want to see more of the area you can take a day trip to a natural hot spring, or take a tour to a nearby village.

Kalamu Tented Camp aims to be as environmentally friendly as possible. All the electricity for lights and fans is powered by solar panels. Water is supplied by a borehole and also warmed by solar panels.
