Mosi-oa-Tunya, in Zambia, is a small national park divided into two sections - the forest and cliff tops surrounding Victoria Falls, and a game park near Livingstone.

The Falls section of Mosi-oa-Tunya

In the Falls section, footpaths wind through dripping rainforest to spectacular viewpoints with names like the 'Knife-Edge Bridge' and the 'Boiling Pot'. During the rainy season (February to May), prepare to get drenched from clouds of spray thrown up by the thundering Falls.

Although water flow over the Falls is not that impressive from the Zambian side during dry season, it's still well worth visiting Mosi-oa-Tunya Park. Take a guided trip across the rocky lip of the Zambezi River to Livingstone Island for a heart-stopping peek into the thundering chasm below, or a dip on the edge in the Devil's Pool - your friends will never believe your photos!

The wildlife sanctuary is home to Zambia's only remaining white rhino , as well as zebra, giraffe and the occasional herd of elephant. Go on a game drive along the Zambezi, and you're sure to see pods of hippo wallowing in the shallows, and crocodiles basking on the river bank.
