The weather at Victoria Falls is generally hot and dry - except inside and near Batoka Gorge, where it's hot and wet.

The area averages eight hours of sunshine per day, so if you're looking for a bit of African sun, Vic Falls is where you would want to bake.

The summer rainy season lasts from November to March, and the rain usually comes in the form of afternoon thundershowers. During this time the weather can be quite unpredictable, with torrential downpours one day, and clear skies the next.

There is a considerable difference in the flow of water over the Falls from the rainy to the dry season. If you're planning a holiday, this may affect your decision of when to travel to Victoria Falls.

If you are visiting Victoria Falls in the cooler months from April to July, be sure to pack some long pants and a jacket to avoid getting chilly.

Nights in Victoria Falls can sometimes be cold, but never unbearably so.
