Visiting this small Zambian park is a must, if not for the wildlife then definitely for the views it offers of the mighty and misty Victoria Falls.
Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park is divided into two sections - one immediately surrounding the falls, and a game park near Livingstone.
In the falls section, well-designed footpaths allow you to view Victoria Falls from both upstream and downstream. During the rainy season you can touch the waters of the Zambezi just metres before it plunges into the chasm. In the dry season you have to tread carefully across the rocky lip to Livingstone Island for a heart-stopping peek over the edge.
The wildlife sanctuary is worth a visit, not only for the sight of what are Zambia's only remaining rhino, but also for the species of zebra, giraffe and the occasional elephant.
