Begin your overland adventure today as you depart Johannesburg with your tour members and head north east towards the Zimbabwe border.

From there, you'll travel through southern Zimbabwe and into Botswana, where you'll arrive in Francistown, Botswana's second largest city, and the site of Southern Africa's first 'gold-rush' back in the late 1800s.

Lunch and dinner are included today. In the evening you can enjoy a night out on the town at one of the city's jazz clubs or casinos (for your own account).

Early on day 2, you'll head north from Francistown to the Zimbabwean border. Within a few hours you'll arrive in Hwange National Park for some thrilling game viewing in an open 4x4 vehicle. All meals are included today.

Spend the night in the park, and enjoy one early morning drive the next day. After lunch you'll drive north to Victoria Falls - known as 'The Smoke That Thunders'. Marvel at this incredible natural wonder, before visiting a local operator to book your adventure activities for the following day.

Breakfast and lunch are included today, but dinner can be enjoyed in Victoria Falls Town.

This amazing natural wonder is a highlight on any Southern African itinerary, and is complemented by the numerous adventure activities on offer here.

After breakfast, you'll head out and experience the attractions of Victoria Falls. From white water rafting, to bungee jumping and walking with lions, there is plenty to do. Try an elephant-back safari, experience the thrill of a gorge swing or take to the air on a scenic flight or microlight flip.

For the truly adventurous, enjoy a swim in the Devil's Pool, situated on the very edge of the Falls.

This morning, you'll cross over the historical railway bridge that links Zimbabwe and Zambia at Victoria Falls and travel into Livingstone, where you'll collect any additional passengers beginning their overland tour here.

From Livingstone, you'll head out along the Zambezi River for a long drive to reach camp by evening. All meals are included today.

Today you'll begin your canoe adventure in the Lower Zambezi National Park, a wildlife-rich park in southern Zambia. Beginning early in the morning, you'll be taking a minimum of equipment along and bush camping on an island in the evening.

This unique experience is a true highlight. Day 7 is spent on the mighty Zambezi River, drifting along and enjoying the beautiful scenery and wildlife on the banks of the river.

If the river levels are too high and dangerous, these two days will be swapped for a 2-night houseboat excursion on Lake Karibia. All meals are included during your time on the Zambezi.

In the morning, you'll catch a transfer through the Lower Zambezi National Park and back to the truck. From here, you'll pass through the Chirundu Border (often a time-consuming process) and re-enter Zimbzbwe.

From Chirundu, it's a short trip to Chinhoyi, known for its intricate cave system and exciting cave diving. All meals are included today.

After visiting the caves this morning, you'll enjoy a short drive to Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, where you'll enjoy a leisurely time shopping, enjoying lunch and exploring the city.

Although Harare has not had much positive press in the past few years, you may be surprised at just how safe and accessible this capital is. After lunch you'll travel into the Eastern Highlands and onto the Chimanimani National Park.

The mountain range separating Zimbabwe and Mozambique is known as the Chimanimani range, and is the site of some truly spectacular hiking trails. If time allows, you'll enjoy a short walk to the Bridal Veil Falls in the late afternoon.

Breakfast and dinner is included today, while lunch is enjoyed for your own account in Harare.

Today you have the option of spending a full day hiking in the Chimanimani or enjoying a day trip out to the Chirinda Forest, Zimbabwe's only rain forest and situated on the border of Mozambique.

This is a great day to simply enjoy the scenery, relax with a lunch in a shady spot in the forest and reminisce about your adventures so far. All meals are included today.

After breakfast this morning, you'll leave the Chimanimani behind and head towards the world-famous Great Zimbabwe Ruins, which day from around the 11th century.

Some of the walls are up to 5 meters high and are still standing after so many centuries, making this a great visit for history and culture buffs. All meals are included today.

This morning you drive to Gweru, home to Antelope Park, which incorporates the African Lion Environmental Trust and the world's first Lion Rehabilitation and Release into the Wild Program.

On arrival you'll have time to relax and then enjoy one of the optional activities available, including elephant visits, horse riding, canoeing, fishing and a market place.

Day 13 is also spent relaxing and spending time with Africa's wildlife, including a very special walk with the lions that form part of the rehabilitation and release program. All meals are included while in Gweru.

From Gweru, the drive to Bulawayo and the Matobo National Park is not very long, and where you'll enjoy a full afternoon of exciting activities.

Visit the grave site of Cecil John Rhodes and enjoy a game drive in Matobo National Park - home to a successful breeding program of both black and white rhino. In the evening, enjoy a night out at one of the local Bulawayo restaurants. Breakfast & lunch are included today

After a short visit this morning to the Bulawayo Historical Museum, you'll start the drive back to South Africa. Cross the border at Buitbridge and make your way to the border town of Messina, where you'll camp for the night. All meals are included today.

Your final overland tour day dawns this morning, as you leave early for Johannesburg - the City of Gold.

Move through the bushveld and baobabs of the Limpopo Province and then onto the Highveld region of Gauteng, where you'll drive through Pretoria and arrive in Johannesburg in the late afternoon.

Although this final night is not included in the itinerary, many people choose to get together for a final meal out at one of Joburg's excellent restaurants.
