Masvingo Province

Masvingo Province Map

The Masvingo Province is one of the largest of Zimbabwe's eight provinces. Located in southeastern Zimbabwe, it's populated mostly by members of the Karanga tribe, one subgroup of the Shona speaking peoples.

Most of the area was devoted to cattle ranching, mining, sugar cane growing and subsistence farming until 2000. Recent land 'reforms' have resulted in large farms being divided and distributed to small famers.
