Blog Posts & Recent Travels

I was fortunate enough to enjoy two amazing trips not so long ago, to some of South Africa's best parks and reserves. Have a look at our South Africa Safari photos, incorporating Kruger, Madikwe, the Eastern Cape and Pilanesberg National Park.

We also travelled along the spectacular Garden Route and ended with a thrilling Big 5 safari in the Eastern Cape. Have a look at my trip photos here.

About Me

I was born in Johannesburg and moved to Cape Town when I was about 10. I have lived in this incredible city ever since!  I have travelled extensively, but have always returned, most recently from South Korea with my Scottish husband and am having such fun living in this vibrant city, seeing it through a 'tourist's' eyes.

I am out-going, inquisitive and happy! I have been told I'm friendly and have a pretty good sense of humour. I like to know how things work and care about people, animals and the environment.

Where have I travelled?

As a child, I went on many road trips with my family across Southern Africa. We drove through the Karoo, Transkei, Drakensberg, the Kruger National Park, as well as along the Garden Route. We also ventured into ZimbabweBotswanaNamibia and Zambia. It has been awesome to revisit many of these places with Go2Africa and I look forward to visiting many more and building my portfolio.

I went on my first overseas holiday when I was 16 to Israel, England and France with my mum and brother. It was then that I fell in love with the idea of travel! A few years later, I took a gap year after finishing high school and spent my time between the UK and North America. Shortly thereafter I visited New Zealand for a friend’s wedding.

In 2009, I left South Africa again for Asia, where I spent the next 3.5 years in South Korea, teaching English. During that time, I visited many wonderful countries in Asia, namely Thailand, China, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia.

My favourite travel moment

What I love about Africa

I love how unpredictable Africa is - living here is very exciting and no two days are ever the same!

Some  African travel advice

Try the local food, as different and bizarre as it may seem, it might surprise you! Or not, but then at least you can say you tried it :)

Where I'd love to go next

My travel bucket list is as long as my arm and the more I travel, the more I want to see and explore. A long standing dream is to travel to South America but more short-term is to go and see the gorillas in Uganda.
