Client Experience Expert

I am Maureen Omukhango, a Nairobi native with a heart for safaris. Since 2011, I’ve dedicated myself to making every safari seamless and creating unforgettable memories for my clients. Having the opportunity to experience these incredible safaris first-hand and use this in-depth knowledge to confidently recommend suitable itineraries to my clients is what I love most about my job – we know because we go!

Soulful Safari Reflection

On a visit to the Thornybush Game Reserve in South Africa, I had the unforgettable experience of a traditional boma dinner. We gathered under the vast African sky, surrounded by the warmth of glowing bonfires, as the rhythmic songs of the staff, sung proudly in their native tongue, filled the night air. The combination of authentic flavours, the crackle of the fire, and the soulful melodies created a moment that touched my heart—a memory I’ll carry with me forever. It was more than just a meal; it was an immersion into the rich culture and spirit of Africa.

Most Memorable Experience Organised for a Client

I had the pleasure of planning a first-time visit to Africa for a couple on their honeymoon, and we made sure every moment felt magical. With the help of the lodge manager, we surprised them by decorating their room with romantic touches and treating them to complimentary champagne and chocolates at each camp they stayed in. Some lodges went the extra mile, offering intimate wine tastings during their dinners. The joy and gratitude in their eyes made it all worthwhile—it was clear these thoughtful surprises turned their safari into an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

 My Best African Travel Advice

During the Wildebeest Migration season in East Africa, immersing yourself in this spectacle is an experience unlike any other. To fully appreciate the grandeur of this natural wonder, I recommend staying at least 3-4 nights at a property. This gives you ample time to witness the drama unfold—the thunderous herds crossing rivers, predators lurking nearby, and the endless savannah teeming with life. With each day, you’ll be drawn deeper into the wild beauty of Africa, ensuring your experience is as breathtaking as the migration itself.
