About Me

I am Botswana-born and bred.  Although currently living in Maun, I have been lucky enough to spend time in both Missouri as well as Franschhoek and Hout Bay outside Cape Town. Over the years I have managed to travel to the USA, Israel, Dubai, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, St Helena Island, Thailand, Mauritius, Hong Kong, Comoros and the Seychelles. In Africa, I have spent time in South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Namibia.

Travel would be high on my lists of likes (however, now being a mum I have done a lot less of late). My hobbies include photography, metal detection, snorkelling and horse riding. I also really enjoy being out in nature, gardening and reading.

Where I have travelled

Locally, I've travelled throughout Southern Africa. I spent an enjoyable week visiting camps and lodges in the Sabi Sand and Thornybush reserves around the Kruger National Park.  Then I got to explore both sides of the Victoria Falls and the Chobe area of Botswana followed by Mauritius.

My favourite travel moment

Meeting a lone Maasai man walking across the Serengeti in the middle of nowhere!

What I love about Africa

The freedom we still have here. There are places in Botswana that still truly feel wild to me.

My best African travel advice

Ask the locals, they often know best!
