Client Experience Expert

My fondest childhood memories consist of admiring nature in all its forms – from the smallest insects to the largest trees. I'm originally from the UK, where I studied Zoology, but the African bug bit hard during a research trip to the Eastern Cape in 2012. By 2015, I was living in South Africa permanently and working as a guide. My journey took me into lodge management until I found my new home at Go2Africa. I love travel and have a strong passion for wildlife and conservation. For me, there's no better feeling than sharing these passions and experiences with you as you embark on your African adventure of a lifetime.

Soulful Safari Reflection

Seeing my firstever river crossing during the Great Migration in Tanzania must be one of my top memories ever! There was something about the suspense of waiting along the riverbank, sometimes for hours, not knowing what events were going to unfold. It's a truly indescribable experience; to understand the vastness of this phenomenon you must experience it for yourself. It really is survival of the fittest! Watching wildebeest trying to navigate perilously steep riverbanks, all the while dodging hippos with mouths full of teeth and crocodiles waiting to score what might be their first meal in months. And then, just when you think the safety of dry land is in reach for them, hidden big cats lie in wait, concealed in the grass and ready to pounce. A true example of nature at its finest.

My Best African Travel Advice

Appreciate the small things! Most safari experiences are spent in a vehicle driving for miles and miles focusing on the bigger animals. If a bush walk is on offer, grab the opportunity with both hands. Experience what it's really like to just be a small being in our vast universe. It is the most grounding and humbling place in nature to find yourself. Remember, it's the small, intricate details of the ecosystem that enable the larger species to flourish!
