I've lived in South Africa's mother city, Cape Town, as well internationally in both Thailand and California, but I always find myself returning to Africa – I just can't seem to get enough of it! As a child, I went on many family holidays to various destinations, sparking my love of travel and as I grew older, the desire to travel the globe only intensified. Family and friends know me as a wanderer, always looking to explore new and exciting places as often as I possibly can. One of the reasons I love being an Africa Safari Expert is that it gives me the opportunity to share my love for travel, and Africa, with others.
There are honestly just too many to choose from; one that springs to mind is sleeping out under the stars and listening to the sounds of wild animals surrounding me at Lingwasha Camp in Hwange National Park. It was such a privilege to feel so completely immersed in nature. Another one that springs to mind is on a trek through the jungle on Rubondo Island following the calls of chimps echoing all around me.
I arranged an intimate African wedding celebration for one of my clients and her closest family and friends. There was an African blessing, a local choir to sing the bride down the aisle, a dinner celebration, flowers, photographer, and videographer to capture their special day.
Each African experience and wildlife sighting is totally unique so try not to spend the entire trip viewing everything from behind a camera – take a moment to stop, digest what you're experiencing, and soak it all in.
