Situated just outside the historic town of Franschhoek, Auberge Clermont has an enviable setting in the heart of the ever-scenic Cape Winelands. Walk out of your room and be greeted by views of vineyards and the dramatic Franschhoek Mountains. There is a distinct old-world charm to this guesthouse as it was once a wine cellar and is still surrounded by Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Bordeaux vines.

Pack a picnic lunch and take a walk down to the river for a lazy afternoon under the trees or just relax and unwind in or around the swimming pool.

Auberge Clermont comprises guesthouse suites and a self-catering villa, all of which have complimentary Wi-Fi, Nespresso machines and satellite television. The villa has a wood-burning fireplace to ward off chilly evenings, a private swimming pool and a tennis court.

"In Franschhoek, the Auberge Clermont was great! We were so close to everything and had great dinners at Reuben's and The Grill Room! We also used our rental car to drive all around and around the coast one afternoon."

"We stayed at Auberge Clermont in Franschhoek which was superb and Fynbos Ridge near Plett/Knysna which we could not fault if we tried. We would recommend both properties to any prospective visitors."

Auberge Clermont was so beautiful. I would stay there again in a second. Franschoek was the right call for us instead of Stellenbosch. Surprisingly, the bed at Clermont was like sleeping on a wooden table. I think they just need to put an egg crate o r some kind of mattress topper to make the bed comfortable - other than that, we adored the location and grounds.

We had 2 gorgeous bedrooms overlooking the vineyards, swimming pool and mountain view beyond. It was idyllic and the owner, Chris, and the manager were very welcoming. We were planning to do another vineyard visit (we'd already been to Rickety Brid ge), but when we arrived there at about 2.30 pm - we decided to settle for a chilled bottle of their delicious Sauvignon Blanc on our patio instead and the children were very glad to swim and relax rather than another boring wine tasting. Breakfast was very good and served on the patio.
