Overview

Drive along the corniche that winds around Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard, the wind in your hair and the tang of salt in the air. With the mountains pushing up into the sky on the one side and the sparkling ocean on the other, you are spoilt for visual choice.

This narrow strip of land is one of the most sought-after locations in one of the world's most desirable cities. There is little to beat the variety of sandy beaches: the long, white Camps Bay set against a dizzying array of restaurants and wine bars, the gentle alcoves of Clifton's First to Fourth beaches, Bakoven and more.

From your home at Camps Bay's plush Azamare, explore Cape Town's famed culture and nightlife. In the day, enjoy the extraordinary natural attractions, such as Table Mountain and the remarkable Cape Floral Kingdom, a World Heritage Site.

But a holiday is also about relaxing: laze on the beach, swim in the cool ocean and take home an enviable tan. From its lounge and entertainment area, Azamare boasts uninterrupted sea views; sit on the deck with a chilled drink and watch the sun slide into the ocean, or snuggle up in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine – Cape Town's winter evenings can be cool but always fun.

Rooms

Standard Room

Azamare has six en suite bedrooms on three levels, named in keeping with the ocean theme. All boast fantastic sea views. On the second level, the Nautilus Luxury Pool Suite has a private lounge with gas fireplace, as well as a private balcony and swimming pool. The en suite bathroom has a bathtub, shower and double basin – and gorgeous sea views.

Facilities

Lounge by the pool or in the Jacuzzi with sundowners and snacks from the bar. It is the best way to ease into the evening before heading out to one of any number of top restaurants for dinner. Azamare makes the most of the sunset and you will want to linger a little longer – even after the moon has risen.

The attention to detail continues inside, where each room is elegantly decorated and furnished. Sleek, modern lines define the lounge, where a gas fire heats up the cooler winter evenings. At Azamare, the little luxuries make for a wonderful stay – heated towel rails, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, full air conditioning and lift access from the remote-controlled garage.

Dining

Azamare offers breakfasts and evening snacks in the lounge or on the entertainment deck. The choice is wide in the morning: nibble on a full English, a continental, fruit, cold meat, cheese and pastries.

For lunches and dinners, Cape Town is awash with award-winning restaurants, many within a few minutes of Azamare. Good food and good wine are plentiful, from the outstanding fish restaurants at the V&A Waterfront to the eclectic offerings of the city centre.

We absolutely loved South Africa and nearly everything was beyond our expectations. Cape Town was fantastic and we loved Azamare. The accommodation was beautiful as was the breakfast and drinks/canapes at 6pm. We also loved the location as it was a l ittle away from the main Strip but close enough to walk.
