Situated on the slopes of the Namikwera Hill in the remote and wild Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve), Beho Beho Camp overlooks the Rufiji River floodplain and is your gateway to this extraordinary destination.

Discover a unique array of varying biodiversity from riverine forests and miombo woodlands to savannah plains and wetlands. You’ll be exploring one of the largest game reserves in the world in your search for big game on foot, by boat or by open-sided vehicle – the Nyerere is home to some of Africa’s largest big game populations and has all the big cats and major predators.

Something that sticks out, is the commitment of our hosts to accommodate us and make our experience outstanding. They gave us an extra room at Beho Beho at no charge (so we each had our own space).

It was all exceptional. I would add that in the intro meeting by the manager at Beho Beho he talked about the tradition of ‘heavy hosting' (a concept I hadn't heard coined that way but easy to understand) at their camp and it took some getting used to. We never had issues with always eating and having drinks with all the guests and staff / that's fine for us 3 men (not sure how I'd feel on a romantic adventure with my partner though), the issue was that a couple of the hosts – the manager and another guide simply talked too much and from time to time would dominate the conversation. They were highly knowledgeable and great people – just not great listeners and not ready to just allow the moment to lend itself to sitting together in silence or answering simply rather than with a 5–10-minute explanation.

The food specifically was quite amazing at both places. And it was pleasantly surprising that we never needed AC at either lodge. Would highly recommend Beho Beho with the caveat you have to be ready to do a lot of listening to stories.
