Style & Décor
Blue Views Penthouse One is a typical Camps Bay villa with clean, modern lines and sleek, minimalist furnishings. The colour scheme mixes fresh white and chrome with warmer wood and earthy tones; pull back the large slatted sliding doors to let in the view and you can contrast the interior’s soft tones with the dazzling blue Atlantic Ocean outside. A highlight is the large outdoor area, complete with a swimming pool, sun loungers, shaded couches and 270° views of the Twelve Apostles mountains and ocean.
Neighbourhood
Blue Views Penthouse One is set in Bakoven, an enclave of the much larger Camps Bay neighbourhood that generally evades the prevailing summer winds. You can walk to Bakoven Beach, which about 100 metres / 330 feet away, or on for another five minutes to Camps Bay beach, which is flanked by a wide range of restaurants and bars.
The villa’s location on the southern side of Camps Bay also puts you close to the local supermarket, ideal for stocking up on provisions. A longer scenic drive will take you to Table Mountain’s cable car as well as the V&A Waterfront, home to Cape Town’s largest array of shops and restaurants as well as the Robben Island ferry station.
Suitability
A 2-bedroom apartment, Blue Views Penthouse One is recommended for couples and honeymooners looking for a bit of extra space to relax in. It will also suit two couples travelling together as each bedroom has an en suite bathroom and the outside area is generously sized. Close to the beach, it is also suitable for a family with one or two teenagers but is not recommended for young children as the pool is unfenced.
Best time to visit
Cape Town is considered a year-round destination but Camps Bay, sitting on the Atlantic coastline, is at its best during summer. November to April is a time dominated by dry, warm and sunny weather and Cape Town is at its most festive and eventful. There are many local sporting and cultural events as well as music concerts over December and January – including several in Camps Bay - but note that visitor numbers to the city and to Camps Bay in particular are at their highest at this time of year.
