Rooms

Premier Room

Accommodation at Camps Bay Retreat is available in three different buildings on the property. There is the elegant Earl's Dyke Manor, the modern and contemporary Deck House, and the Villa, complete with stunning views of the surrounding forest and mountains.Located on the first floor in all three houses are the bright and spacious Premier Rooms which have views of the garden and mountains from a private deck. These en suite rooms consist of either twin beds or a king-size bed, air conditioning, satellite TV, and a bathroom with separate shower and Victorian bath.

Facilities

Enjoy a round of tennis at any time of the day on the Retreat's conveniently floodlit court - you can book a lesson or game from the resident tennis coach or pit your skills against your fellow guests.

Relax with a rejuvenating treatment at the in-house spa and wellness centre where you can also enjoy a soak in the outdoor baths or sit in the sauna.

Cool off on a warm, sunny day with a dip in one of the Retreat's three pools: there is the solar-heated pool near the Manor House, a pool by the Deck House, and a mountain pool in the garden.

For those days when staying in are in order, spend some time in one of the two lounges in the Manor House. Relax with a book in the quiet lounge or grab a DVD from the library: both have comfortable chairs, couches and a fireplace for those cooler days.

Dining

Enjoy a daily-updated menu of classic French dishes throughout the day, complemented by the special touches of the Retreat's Head Chef and served either in the elegant dining room or outside on the terrace, accompanied by the sound of crashing waves from the not too distant Atlantic Ocean. Breakfasts at Camps Bay Retreat consist of continental buffets and a la carte options while lunches are light and simple - perfect as a picnic in the Retreat's garden. Dinners usually feature the chef's modern take on classic gourmet dishes. The hot summer months see guests enjoying the Retreat's traditional South African barbeque (braai) which consists of salads, grilled meats and decadent desserts. Private dinner parties for small groups can also be organised in the main dining room, the guest lounge, on the Earl's Dyke veranda, or indeed in the wine cellar - a perfect venue for romantic dinners.

"'The apartment in Camps Bay was simply perfect for us with the possibility of cooking at home some of the amazing fresh South African groceries.'"

The Camps Bay Retreat was lovely during our time in Cape Town. We really enjoyed the views and the fact it was so close to the beach which had an amazing view of the Twelve Apostles. The breakfast was delicious. The biscuits in the rooms and turn- down service complete with foot warmers were nice touches. We really appreciated their flexibility to arrange drop-off and pick-up for our whole group in the evenings for our dinners. Overall, the staff was helpful - some people were more helpful than others but that is true of all places - overall, it was a positive experience to stay there.

Camps Bay Retreat was my favourite place ever, jolly expensive but just idyllic and only a five minute walk into Camps Bay. Bit couply and lots of guests on SKI trips (spending the kids inheritance) ....well, that's what they were calling it hee hee .
