Lying on the vast plains of Namibia’s Gondwana Canyon Park, Canon Lodge is a unique desert lodge set in the shelter of a granite hilltop and built amongst enormous boulders to blend in with the natural environment. Canon Lodge’s setting in the Gondwana Canyon Park makes it an ideal base from which to explore the collosal Fish River Canyon, located nearby, either on foot or by horseback.
Enjoy scenic sunrise walks and sunset drives, and be sure to visit the hugely rewarding thermal baths of Ai-Ais. Spend some time on the shaded terrace with a good book or just laze beside the swimming pool, ending your day with a refreshing sundowner drink at the top of the lodge’s own mountain.

Experience excellent views of the rugged desert landscape as you enjoy a delicious meal in the main restaurant situated in the old farmhouse, built in 1908. Many of the ingredients are home grown in the lodge’s gardens. Breakfasts consist of a variety of cold meats, yoghurt, cheeses and eggs, while lunches are light and are ordered from an a la carte menu. Dinners include hearty game dishes and are served buffet style.
