Chitabe Lediba
Per Person Sharing
Chitabe Lediba is situated in a large private concession that borders the legendary Moremi Game Reserve and overlooks a waterhole that attracts all sorts of wildlife. It is a small, friendly and personal camp that is ideal for families or groups of friends travelling together. You will have many opportunities to spot incredible wildlife on morning, afternoon and evening game drives with your experienced guides.
Guests can also take guided walks through the concession, a great way to spot the Okavango Delta’s fantastic birdlife. The area hosts a diverse range of habitats allowing for varied wildlife sightings. There is an impressive predator and plains game population in the area, and sightings of lion, buffalo, cheetah, elephant and hippo are common. Leopards and wild dogs are often seen in the area, and the owners help fund a local wild dog conservation fund.
Children under 12 will delight in the Bush Buddy programme, where a member of staff trained in educational childcare will be the mentor and friend of any child in camp, teaching them about wildlife, survival skills and other fun activities

Chitabe Lediba has five luxurious safari tents with wooden floors, large glass sliding doors and decorated in a clean contemporary style.
All tents have spacious en suite bathroom facilities as well as outdoor showers. Each are connected to Chitabe Lediba’s main living area by a series of wooden walkways.
The two Family Units at Chitabe Lediba have adjoining bedrooms and en suite bathrooms.
The long thatched main camp area consists of a comfortable lounge, dining area and bar, all sporting great views of the waterhole where many animals come to drink. Wander along the walkway to the raised deck, specifically located for the best views.
There is a small swimming pool at camp for cooling off in during Botswana’s hot summer afternoons.
The complimentary Bush Buddy programme is specially designed for guests under the age of 12 and will be tailored as much as possible to each child’s interests. On arrival, each child receives a Bush Buddy backpack, an age-appropriate welcome card and child-friendly magazines. Exciting activities include guided walks, making casts of animal tracks, birding, soccer and volleyball games, bush cooking (learn to bake pizza in a termite mound!), jewellery making and storytelling. At night, older children can accompany trained guides to go frogging or stargazing and take part in after-dinner drumming and dancing lessons.

This camp had an old-world, rustic feel, which made it a great complement to Rattray’s, which was polished. Our tent was decorated really well, with nice amenities and the main areas looked upgraded and very welcoming. Botswana is in a drought situation and many watering holes were dry but the Chitabe concession had lots of wildlife, so all game drives were great, with much to see. We shared the vehicle with others (all USA) which was fine. Our ranger was Ant and he was also really good. We saw jackals, giraffe/zebra in numbers, antelopes of all kinds, two big lion prides after they brought down a giraffe and a warthog. Many buffaloes and hippos in and out of the water. On one game drive, we went to an area that was like the garden of Eden with so many animal species hanging out together around a large weaving lagoon area. Magical! Back at camp, dinner was communal, buffet style and had a nice variety. Wine and drinks were good. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable. In fact, if there is one common theme among all the camps, it is that the people running these places were simply wonderful. We took time daily to talk to them and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction.
