A Mauritian jewel! Personal service (always with a smile) and a beautiful beach. The Junior Suites are lovely but the villas are incredible! I highly recommend an upgrade.

Rooms

Villa Stilts

Set alongside the Barachois, Villa on Stilts offers intimacy and comfort with a hint of coziness. Sunbathe or star gaze, the furnished balcony is made just for that! The Villas on Stilts come with a king-size bed overlooking the fish reserve and there is a separated dining and living room, as well as a walk-in wardrobe.

Beachfront Villa

Twelve individual villas offer direct access to the beach and have their own private pool. These en suite villas have the standard facilities of the Junior Suites as well as a whirlpool tub, and separate living space.

Junior Suite

Accommodation at Le Prince Maurice consists of 64 Junior Suites, 12 Villas, 12 Family Suites and a Princely Suite, spread out in the tropical vegetation of the private estate.

The suites are set along the brilliant white-sand beach or in shady green gardens facing the sea and feature massive wooden furnishings and attractive colours. Each has air conditioning, satellite TV with a DVD player, Wi-Fi, and an en suite bathroom.

The Junior Suites are all single-bedroom en suite units with an interior sitting area and terrace or balcony from which to watch the sunset. The bathrooms feature dual basins, separate showers and bathtubs.

Facilities

Your children will be kept busy at the children's club for four- to 11-year-olds. This mini-club organises indoor and outdoor activities and has its own games room, dining area and private pool, all under the professional supervision of a team of childminders. Located in the main building is a beautifully designed library with a wide range of books, CDs and magazines for you to enjoy, either in one of the library's comfortable chairs or back at your suite.

Enjoy shopping in any of the six boutiques located throughout Constance Prince Maurice. Items to buy range from jewellery and clothing to souvenirs and private collection pieces. Mauritius is a premier golfing destination and guests of the Constance Prince Maurice can book a complimentary round at the Legends or Links Golf Courses at the nearby Constance Belle Mare Plage Resort.

Constance Prince Maurice offers an irresistible sensory experience at the Constance Spa. Treatments range from facials, pedicures and manicures to a wide variety of body massages including a unique 'rum spirit' treatment specific to the resort. Spend the morning relaxing in a lounger on the deck of either of the two swimming pools - an infinity pool and a heated lap pool.

Dining

Offering an à la carte menu of light and spicy cuisine, L'Archipel is an elegant restaurant incorporating the natural surroundings to offer views of both the pool and beach. Enjoy an exquisite old or new wine from the adjoining 25,000 bottle cellar. An Asian Theme Night blends a sumptuous choice of Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Indian cuisine with the typical Mauritian-influenced dishes.

Follow the snaking walkway through the mangrove trees to the floating Le Barachois. Here you'll enjoy a unique dining experience as you sit out in the lagoon with the stunning mountain range as a backdrop. Open for dinner, the restaurant serves up a variety of Mauritian fish and seafood specialties. As the name suggests, The Beach Deck is located on a wooden deck close to the beach. This 40-seat restaurant offers an à la carte lunch menu and features special events on certain evenings.

Soak up the relaxed Asian-style atmosphere of the Laguna Bar as you sip a cocktail and dine on some Asian specialties, while listening to some live jazz as you overlook the main swimming pool. It's equally comfortable at the Lounge Bar, where you might want to enjoy an aperitif after dinner.

"The Prince Maurice was beyond our expectations : the architecture, the gardens, the rooms, the service, activities, the privacy and romanticism, the gourmet foods, the restaurants, the sommelier and wine selection, the spa."

Le Prince Maurice was as lovely as expected, although the only constructive criticism I would have for them is that the drinks are VERY expensive and some parts of the menu came with a supplement which was a bit annoying when you have already paid a lot to stay with them.

We could not say enough about our hotel there! It was the most idyllic and beautiful place eiher of us had visited. We got upgraded to a HUGE senior suite on stilts with two decks and a private outdoor bath. The food was delicious an the amenities we re top notch. We loved being the only Americans there too!

The resort in Mauritius was beautiful and very relaxing and the food was outstanding. however, I was quite caught off guard by the prices. Our package included breakfast and dinner, but not lunch or drinks. I was pretty surprised to see the prices fo r lunch items and drinks - 15 Euros (plus tax) for alcoholic drinks seemed to be quite excessive. I know there isn't anything that anybody can do about this and it is the price you pay sometimes for luxury. Maybe listing the prices or the average amount that a guest can expect to pay per day for drinks and lunch would be a good way to go when people reserve a stay at this particular resort.
