Dream of Zanzibar

After a busy day exploring the island, you can laze by one of the resort's two swimming pools or on the beach beneath the palm trees but this hotel resort is also packed with facilities.

On a practical level, Dream of Zanzibar has an in-house clinic (doctor on call), a boutique, a gym and business and conference centres.

Daily entertainment is offered and a babysitter is available on request.

You can also treat yourself to some pampering at the spa - where you can enjoy treatments ranging from hydrotherapy to local therapies - before heading off to the water sports centre to book a scuba dive.

Sailing, wind surfing and canoeing are also available as are other sports ranging from beach volleyball to darts, billiards and table tennis.

The main restaurant at Dream of Zanzibar is the Cape to Venice Brasserie where you can indulge in delicious buffets and enjoy themed evenings. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers international dishes as well as local fare served in the air-conditioned indoor dining room or outdoors under the stars. Andiamo Pizza Co is open for dinner only and serves pizza, fish and meat grills, salads and deserts as well as drinks and snacks.

Enjoy cocktails, seafood and fusion cuisine dinners at the sophisticated a la carte Blue Vanilla restaurant or order regional and local African dinner dishes at the all-inclusive Boma Restaurant. Asian noodle and rice specialties are served at the all-inclusive 'Chop Sticks' restaurant.

For drinks and snacks on the go, the Kokosnuss Bar and Mama Pawpaw Bar are conveniently located near the pool area. They serve tasty snacks and drinks throughout the day though for sundowner drinks or a nightcap, head for Le Souk bar.

The airy Golden Bridge restaurant fuses African, Arabic and Western cuisines, and the chefs prep all the dishes at their individual cooking stations.
