Embark on morning and evening game drives in Shamwari with your personal game ranger.
Stop during your drives to enjoy a nice warm cup of coffee in the mornings or a sundowner in the evening. Experience the surrounding area from a different perspective on a guided walk, with a specially trained guide. Relax after a day in the bush with a rejuvenating treatment or soak in the hydro-bath at Eagles Crag Lodge. You can also visit the Born Free Big Cat Sanctuary, an animal rescue centre in the reserve.

Eagles Crag Lodge has nine stylish en suite rooms, all of which have been named after a different kind of eagle found in the reserve. Each of the rooms has been built to maximize privacy, and offers a tranquil setting.
All of the suites feature king-sized beds that can be converted into twins. All the suites have air conditioning, en suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, and heated private plunge pools on the decks.

Well, really, I don’t believe you can complain about anything. The accommodation was perfect, very comfortable beds, spotlessly clean, lovely baths and showers for after those cold game drives. The food was always wonderful, plenty of variety and always fresh. But the most important thing about Shamwari is the staff, they really do go above and beyond to make it a memorable stay. All of them, from the game ranger (who was really wonderful – Tim) to the cleaning staff and everything in between. And the game was plentiful, always so wonderful to be in the bush again. A real treat, we are always so grateful that we can experience this.
