Elephant’s Eye is a charming, eco-style safari camp located on a private concession bordering the entrance of the Hwange National Park. The area is home to large numbers of game, including huge herds of up to 200 elephants that often visit the waterholes in front of the lodge, much to the delight of guests.
Tented suites have a traditional design of canvas and thatch, with fold up sides, and large glass doors that allow you to appreciate the view. Each suite has a fireplace and a generously-sized en-suite bathroom as well as an outdoor shower so you can start your day with refreshing views of the African bushveld. A definite must is the open-air sleeping deck called The Eye, where you can spend the night under the stars and wake up to animals arriving for their first drink at the adjacent watering hole. The swimming pool and recreation area with a bar and lounge are complemented by a spa with a rejuvenating range of treatments. Game viewing in Hwange, guided walks as well as night drives are the main activities on offer, with evenings spent enjoying sundowners at the waterhole or the game viewing hide.
