The kitchen has a walk-in cold room and a separate scullery, and can be sealed off from the dining area completely. Beyond the kitchen and living areas is the private cinema for relaxing nights in. Bantry Bay is an exclusive enclave that lies on the Atlantic Seaboard before you reach the Blue Flag beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. Leafy and quiet, it is an easy drive to all the key attractions such as the V&A Waterfront, vibrant city centre and Table Mountain. As a residential area, there are few restaurants and stores in Bantry Bay but Ellerman House has a dedicated chauffeur service that is active within a defined radius around the property, which is perfectly sited to be protected from the prevailing southeaster wind and to offer glorious ocean views.

Best time to visit

Head for the Cape from November to March for blue summer skies and long days on the beach although you can expect busy restaurants and beaches in the December and January high season. Visit in March and April for cooler days, less wind and far fewer visitors.

The May to September winter is a season of cool to mild sunny days interrupted by regular periods of rain. It is the time for long drives along rugged coastlines and tasting fine Cape vintages in the rolling vineyards of the Cape Winelands.
