Rooms

Standard Room

You will experience absolute privacy at Engagi as there are only eight cottages here, evenly spaced and hidden by the dense foliage.

Each cottage is stylishly furnished, spacious and has either a double or twin bed. Each cottage has an en suite bathroom with hot running water. The electricity at the lodge is supplied by solar power to minimise the impact on the environment, while the hot water is supplied by wood-burning boilers.

Step out onto your private veranda in the morning and gaze out over the beautiful surroundings as you enjoy your morning coffee or locally produced tea.

Facilities

The lodge has a large wooden veranda on which you can relax and enjoy panoramic views of Bwindi.

You can also step out on the separate outdoor viewing platform and get a closer look at this dense and beautiful primeval forest that is home to gorillas, chimpanzees and countless birds.

Dining

The restaurant at Engagi Lodge looks out over the forested canopy and offers a warm, relaxed place in which to unwind as you enjoy a range of exquisite 3-course meals. The in-house chefs are trained in the capital, Kampala, and will be happy to cater for special dietary requirements on request.

The first place where I could see myself properly in the bathroom mirror! Amazingly empty – we were the only guests on the second night, but made to feel very welcome by the staff. Free laundry facilities, but of course nothing got really dry. Gori lla tracking: worth every cent. We were very pleased that our ABB guide managed to get us in a group with other fit people & we made a whole day of the walk over the hills.
