Overview of Feline Fields Vintage Camp

Botswana, Khwai Private Reserve

Situated in a remote corner of Botswana's life-giving Okavango Delta, Feline Fields Vintage Camp is located in a private concession of the Khwai area, in the north-eastern corner of the Delta. The camp site can be booked out on an exclusive-use basis, welcoming family and friends to indulge in an ultra-private safari expedition. The camp offers an exhilarating and intimate safari retreat, with luxury bell tents that exude Victorian-styled elegance as the wilderness opens up on your doorstep.

Its placement on the water's edge provides non-stop game viewing, with a high concentration of predators and wild dogs commonly spotted. As one of Africa's most biodiverse ecosystems, the Delta is home to the Big Five and a healthy population of wild cats and plains game. Large herds of elephants are often seen near the water, as they bathe themselves in cool mud as respite from the midday heat.

Boasting a range of exhilarating outdoor adventures, you'll be spoilt for choice with ample game drives and walking safaris, as well as the opportunity to book once-in-a-lifetime helicopter safaris for aerial tours of the thriving wilderness. Tent

The Luxury Tents are designed to mimic a Victorian-era safari style, with vintage rugs, swish cane furniture, and butler trays that hark back to the vintage age of luxury safari lodgings. Available in king-size and twin-bed configurations, each plush mattress is adorned with a fluffy down duvet and feather pillows, creating blissful comfort for your muscles to ease into relaxation.

Each tent features an en-suite bathroom with a bucket shower—filled with warm water whenever needed—and exudes classic safari living. A small wooden deck with a campaign chair invites you to savour quiet views of the unspoilt Delta vistas as you sip on a glass of wine or a late-night cognac.

Outside your tent, an amenity station is filled with warm water each morning, inviting you to refresh after breakfast before heading out on your safari expedition for the day. While a small heater keeps your tent warm on those chilly mornings.

Family Tent

Upgrade to a Family Tent featuring all the trimmings of the Luxury Tent across two interleading rooms—one with a king-sized bed and the other with twin beds. Ideal for couples with children or friends travelling together.

General Facilities

Feline Fields is an eco-friendly camp, thoughtfully built to blend into its natural surroundings and create a seamless transition between indoor living spaces and the outdoor wilderness. 

The communal areas invite you to spend a tranquil afternoon in the tented tea room, curled up on plush floor cushions overlooking the wetlands as small birds fly through the reeds, building their nests. 

A wellness tent invites you to soak in a wooden hot tub, cradled by the tranquility of nature, as the warm water soothes your muscles. A full-body massage further enhances your relaxation, easing the tightness from your body.

    Feline Fields Vintage Camp is an incredible establishment that I fully intend to revisit. The aesthetic was incredible, the accommodations were clean and inviting, and the staff blew us away. Most notably Tapelo our game guide was knowledgeable, friendly, fun, went above and beyond to make our experience incredible and despite being surrounded by wild animals that can be unpredictable, I constantly felt safe because of Tapelo. Likewise, someone at Go2Africa should figure out if a hotel can get a Michelin star because the craft and creativity of Chef Temelo is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. We had the privilege of getting to see the kitchen at Feline Fields Vintage Camp and the caliber of food coming out of their cooking tent in unreal. Not only was every dinner and lunch better than the next, but for high tea it was clear that the Chef was able to repurpose any excess ingredients from the night before to transform them into another delicious creation. I’m blown away by his skill and hope that he gets the recognition he deserves.
