Franschhoek Country House

Our two nights in Franshoek was great too, and again another lovely hotel. What I liked about that hotel was the service including a WhatsApp service you can ask for anything on and the shuttle service they provided.

Beautiful property with personalized service. The villas are more than spacious, with two balconies, his and her basin’s, large tv/lounge area and a very comfortable bed.
The location is close enough to walk into the quaint town of Franschhoek but they also have a shuttle service ready to assist whenever you need which is very helpful for dinner reservations and getting around.

Lovely accommodation for couples, honeymooners, families and small groups of friends. This hotel is well located for exploring Franschhoek and surrounding areas. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and the staff is amazing. Beautiful garden setting with two swimming pools (one is heated). Monneaux Restaurant on the property is worth a visit. Complimentary shuttles are offered into town until 22:00 pm for guests who opt to dine out.

Franschhoek Country House & Villas is a beautiful boutique hotel and restaurant situated on the outskirts of the village & situated along the same main road leading to town. It's about a ±15 min walk into the town area, some guests opt to walk, it’s safe to do so and can be done during the day. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service to and from the village centre which runs whenever the guests request it. Great for couples, families, multi-gen families or solo travellers.

The rooms are tastefully decorated and quite spacious. The Villa Suites are my favourite, its 100sqm in size with a separate lounge, fireplace, entertainment system with satellite TV, air cons, sun loungers with two balconies. All the en-suite rooms have LED flat-screen satellite TVs, free Wi-Fi throughout, espresso machines, aircon, bath & shower etc. Most rooms lead out onto private balconies or private patios with magnificent views. The Garden Cottages can cater for guests with small children with fold-out beds in the lounge area. The Villa suite allows for 2 small children on a sleeper couch. There are two swimming pools (one that's heated) with beautiful mountain views. No gym on the property but they have a gym facility offsite with complimentary access. Spa treatments can be arranged on-site.

Monneaux Restaurant on-site serves modern and tasteful cuisine, is open 7 days a week for lunch & dinner and is open to the public. We had lunch at this restaurant, and it was delicious with excellent service, it just could not be faulted. When we were having lunch, we sat outside & we could hear the traffic along the road. There is inside restaurant seating too. There are a few rooms located on this side of the property so it's best to check with reservations as it could get noisy for guests.

In the heart of Franschhoek this property has beautiful gardens with charming fountains all around which creates a peaceful and tranquil ambiance. Great for families and couples or even solo travelers who want to be close to the main attractions of the town.

A perfect little European-styled escape in the heart of Franschhoek, this country house and villa property charms guests with its beautiful garden and homely, comfortable and spacious rooms.

Our Franschhoek accommodation was very lovely, their service was excellent and our tour was great. John, our guide, was very knowledgeable and he was able to entertain us well during the tour. We were able to cover the Stellenbosch, Pniel and Paarl area too and did both wine and beer tasting, which we enjoyed.

Very nice accommodation and service as usual. Spent very little time there and had to leave before breakfast. We enjoyed the wine tram in Franschhoek and spent our afternoon doing that. Very nice restaurants too.

The Franschoek country house and villas was nice but their restaurant Monneau was even better. For French gourmets that's not a small thumbs up !

Franschoek was a quiet time for us . It’s a small wine town. We did enjoy the environment and ambiance of this Villa. These places are ideal for newlyweds.

Franchoek was even better. Villas were very nice and the hospitality was great. We even took advantage of the spa there.

The Franschhoek Country House and Villas is a spectacular property. We felt as if we were in the south of France. The accommodations were five star as were the grounds. We had a wonderful day of rest by the fire during our first day of arrival as it poured raining. The following day was an eventful day of wine tasting with an entertaining, polite and knowledgable guide who made it a lasting experience. We toured a local chocolate factory and had a marvelous lunch at one of our tasting venues. A visit to South Africa would not have been complete without a trip to Franschhoek and anything less than the Country House and Villas would have been a great disappointment.

We drove through the Winelands from Cape Town(very scenic drive!) and stayed at this Guest house for a night. We did some wine tasting at Rickety Bridge Vinery during the day which was really cool, and purchased a few bottles of plonk. We also visited a classic cars museum, and explored the town.(cool market stalls/shops). The staff were also very helpful at advising nice places to visit in the area. The accommodation was very luxurious, and the food was excellent.

Our accommodation at Franschhoek Country House and Villas was also amazing, I think the actual facilities were second best to the game reserve chalets. We dined at their restaurant both evenings which was very high quality. Their breakfast was possibly the best of the trip, and they also left us good night cards with 2 chocolates. We ended up doing the wine tram (red route) which we would recommend. It was a unique experience catching a bus, tram and tractor and being able to visit a variety of wineries.

I stayed in the Franschhoek villa and it was amazing!

Franschhoek Country House and Villas is a very nice property and our villa suite was spacious, but Franschhoek was extremely busy and we struggled to get into any of the restaurants for dinner.

Seated in the beautiful wilderness of the West Cape Region, Franschhoek is like a picture from a story book of cultured wine lands. The Franschhoek Country House and Villas is in a perfect setting with it's history of perfume making over a century ago. The athmosphere and service is of the standard of yesteryears, when the guest was treated as a houseguest, welcomed by the family. We are being treated like a royalty here and we love the accommodation of a villa, with two patios and a walk in closet. The views are over the vineyards and to the mountains. We will certainly return.

A very nice hotel. The staff were superb and nothing was too much trouble. Superb breakfasts and Franschhoek is in a stunningly beautiful valley. Five stars.

Franschhoek Country House and Villas: The landscape around the hotel smells of lavender and lemons, it was just precious, and we actually wish we had just one more night here in Franschhoek. We enjoyed private wine tour and went to a spa as well for some relaxation. The pool was very nice. They had a free shuttle to town. Would definitely stay here again. We were pleased that Jehan had recommended The Tasting Room for dinner and very much enjoyed this. We also ate at Reubens which was delightful. Only bad part was we needed one more night here. 🙂 and were sad to leave.

And Franschoek Country House was a great place to spend a horribly wet day. Fireplace, lounges, in house massage etc. Divine.

Every aspect of Franschhoek was incredible – the place we stayed at, the service, the treatment by other people, the restaurants, food, wineries. All just totally fantastic.

In Franshoek we were pleased with the room and staff but we especially enjoyed dinner and breakfast. Very good food.

Franschoek House is quite a special place. You really get the feeling it is quite a family hotel (even though the people don't seem to be related!). The staff really do everything they can to keep you happy and you see the same people all over the hotel. We had a lovely stay there and were very grateful to the manager for organising a hire car for us when all the hire companies were fully booked. We had some very good quality food in the Monneaux restaurant and the best room service ever.

Franschhoek Country House: Excellent choice. Beautiful setting with attractive plantings all around, room was spacious and very attractive, large bath and shower, with adequate linens. Breakfast was outstanding with a very elaborate assortment of breakfast foods, both hot and cold. Staff was very attentive and helpful in all ways. Laundry service was also prompt, well cleaned and inexpensive. Also well located for touring wine farms in the area. The town has some good variety shops and excellent restaurants.

The Franschhoek Country House was great in terms of its setting in the valley, and arrangement of the villas. We were upgraded to a larger suite, which was spectacular as it included a lot of very nice touches from a sun porch to canopy bed to large bathroom. The only downside really was its location to the town of Franschhoek, but since they rent bikes and offer a free shuttle, it was quite easy to get around. Overall, we enjoyed Franschhoek, and the setting was very picturesque. The dinner we had at The Tasting Room was terrific, but it really gave us our full share of wine, so the next day we did not feel like going on a wine tour to the vineyards. Instead we just rented bikes and explored the city.

Again the staff was fantastic. They were also great with suggestions, warm and welcoming, and gave us a carefree stay.

Franschhoek was a perfect ending for our trip. It was wonderful – the rooms and the food were great including rose petals on the bathroom floor when we returnded from their 5-course, wine-tasting meal.

Franschhoek Country House – Absolutely lovely. We were greeted upon arrival, given a tour of the property, everyone was helpful, warm staff, accommodating, breakfast was really good; the grounds were beautiful and well maintained, as were the rooms. Everything was clean and comfortable.

The accommodation was fantastic, the food was great and the people were friendly.

Franschhoek Country House was also very good – the hotel was excellent, ate at some great restaurants and of course drank some killer shiraz!

Franschhoek Country House was beautiful, and our meal absolutely superb, a lovely place to stay, they covered our bathroom floor with white rose petals whilst we were at dinner, a lovely touch, the aroma will stay with me forever.

Absolutely gorgeous. Exceptional service – not enough adjectives to describe the beauty of the place. Should have spent more time there to wind down a bit.

Franschhoek Country House was also excellent. The room was beautiful and we fell inlove with Franschhoek. We did a private tour there one day and the other we went wine tasting by horseback.

Everything went well, all the transfers worked beautifully and the accommodation wonderful.

Franschhoek and the Winelands were beautiful as well – I would stay there longer if we get back to South Africa.

In Franschhoek we also were upgraded to a great room with a fireplace which was great as we had there the only rainy day of our trip.

Franschhoek Country Houses and Villas was maybe our favorite hotel during the vacation. Very charming and cosy with friendly personal service, the staff was simply lovely and you got the feeling of caring instead of professionalism. The rooms might be in need of a face lift, you could notice some wear and tear. The restaurant was fantastic and with a really nice patio (or whatever you want to call it) perfect for a coffee or an afternoon drink. It was walking distance to town center which I think is good. Sometimes you feel for a walk after a great dinner. They also had a transfer service which we used for a fantastic dinner at Haut Cabrière. If/when we go to Franschhouk again it is highly likely that we stay here. Bird song, Ibisis on the roofs, you could hear a rooster in the morning…charming things that is impossible to intentionally create. Recommended for anyone who need somewhere to stay in this area of the winelands.

Thank you for such a fantastic opportunity to spend time in South Africa. This was my first visit and everthing was perfect. The accomodations were excellent and your attention to detail was superb. Our decision to hire a car allowed us to tour the counrty at our leisure and not feel rushed or under time constraints- a true vacation. The maped itenerary was our lifeline to our planning. You did an amazing job for us.

We really enjoyed Franchhoek and the Country House. We had heard a bad review about this place from some friends of ours (stating it didn’t have a view). While that was true the garden and fountains that abounded in the place were very relaxing and enjoyable. One thing I was not aware before we arrived is that they have a complementary van which will drop and collect you from restaurants in Franchhoek so you don’t have to worry about indulging in too much wine and having to drive home – that was one of our favorite features and we took them up on it several times. The only drawback I encountered is they did not have free internet – a 5 star place like that should have this type of amenity.

We had an absolutely marvelous time. Franschhoek Guest House was fantastic. If we were to make our way to Franschhoek again, we’d gladly stay at either inn–Thank you so much for your advice (we indulged in a wine tasting at Mont Rochelle as well) and arrangements. We look forward to working with you again, should we be able to return.

The hotel in Frankschoek was truly lovely. The food at the restaurant was great. The guide you found for us to do the wine tour was fabulous – Abdul. He was very knowledgeable but funny and arranged the itinerary to meet our needs.

Franschhoek Country House was so beautiful, I couldn’t stop taking photos. We had a pleasant tour of the vineyards, and Eddie our driver was so knowledgeable,we learnt so much about the history of the lovely area.

Franschhoek Country House also upgraded us to a suite. The manager was extremely nice to us.

Beautiful accommodation with excellent breakfast. Since we had to leave in early AM to catch a plane, they brought coffee and croissants to our room and gave us a box breakfast to go. Wineries were
excellent; beautiful scenery, good food and very generous with wine tastings. Highly recommend.

Franschhoek Country House was great! We really liked that place. It was the perfect time of year to visit there. There were only a few other guests in the hotel. And just fell in love with the town. The room was very beautiful and the staff was great. They even gave us a ride to and from dinner one night. We just loved it there. We would love to go back to Franschhoek and would definitely stay there again. We recommend it. On a scale of 1-10 we would give it a 9.

The wine area was lovely. The hotel could do with some refurbishment especially the bedroom, electrics etc. Heating didn’t work.

Franschoek was beautiful, the Country house was a perfect spot. Great call.

Thi was a wonderful suite. A bit of a mix up about us being on honeymoon. In particular forgot the sparkling wine and snacks until I reminded them the next day. Also didn’t give us the voucher for the vineyard of their choice until I complained. They then gave it to us and sent us there and it was shut on the weekends! Other than that, it was fine!

Franschoek Country House Hotel was great. Very luxurious accommodation, delicious breakfasts, lovely pool, and they organised a fantastic wine tour for us.

We enjoyed Franschhoek, doing a horseback riding wine tour, then found another tour guide to take us to other winery’s.

An impressive hotel staffed by very friendly people. We enjoyed the food and were delighted to be offered the use of a room for the following day to fit in with our late flight out of Cape Town.

The winelands were great as well. We really enjoyed our time at the Franschoek Country House. We were very pleasantly surprised to learn when we checked in that they upgraded our room. It really added to our experience. We spent many evenings sipping wine on our balcony looking out over the star filled sky.

Upon our arrival to the Franchhoek Country House and Villa, we were immediately upgraded to a Villa Suite which was wonderful. The Manager (I apologize that I am forgetting his name, but I remember that he is from Namibia if that helps!) was extremely helpful. He researched horseback riding and dinner options for us, and was overall very attentive. This hotel, as well as the two above, made for a very romantic stay in South Africa. Most of all, we loved exploring the winelands! (and buying lots of wine!)

The wine country was great. The hotel was lovely, the food very good and the people were very accommodating. In fact it got warm enough so we got in some pool time.

The trip to Franschhoek was great and our accommodation at the Country house was very nice, in fact fantastic. What a lovely little town. We went on a wine tour and had lovely food.

This was nice but a significant drop off from other places. The staff at the Country House was professional, they were much colder and less friendly than the other places.
While they did things like make reservations for us at local restaurants, it always seemed like we were putting them out asking them to do their job.

This was lovely but we did run into the only problem on our trip there. We were booked for 2 rooms and my understanding was that one of the rooms would be 2 doubles for the 4 girls.
Another student came with us so we needed an extra room and were going to put 3 girls in one room and 2 in the other. They only had the beautiful superior rooms available but that was no problem. The problem came in after the girls moved into their 2 superior rooms. The manager came to our room a while later and told us that it would not be possible to put 3 girls in one room even though they were huge. We were forced to rent another room to house one of the girls. Therefore, we paid for 4 rooms, instead of 3.
Honestly, other than that, it is charming there and our dinner was most delicious and we were very well taken care of.

The buildings and grounds at Franschhoek were so elegant that I could have stayed for quite awhile. Our room was almost a suite, complete with balcony.

This was an inspired choice of hotel in the Wineland. Franschhoek was a lovely town and we particularly enjoyed an unforgettable meal at Ruebens and a great winery tour.

Franschhoek Hotel was gorgeous, and the restaurant there was amazing. We also ate at Le Quartier Francais which was excellent. And so was the restaurant at Chamonix. We drove to Stellensbosch and walked around the town.

Historical significance and beautiful and peaceful setting. Restaurant and winery recs from the Franschhoeck CH&V were great and they even made sure we had breakfast before we left so early in the morning our last day there!

Our stay in Franschoek was most enjoyable. As I suspected our son wanted to arrange this as a thank you to us for coming out to see him. The Country Club was truly delightful and our meal at the Monneux restaurant excellent. A friend recommended we have lunch at Le Petite Ferme and it was so good we went back the following week! The weather was wonderful.

This was by far the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Again, excellent accommodation and service. The wine tour the hotel organized for us was also very good.

It was also wonderful. Our room had a great sundeck and the swimming pools were a real treat after a long day wine tasting! Our one recommendation for this hotel is that our bathroom (in room #2) could have done with an update. However, the rest of the room was large, light, airy and very comfortable. The location was perfect for getting to all the various wineries.

This was fabulous and the food/service/location was great! Same re Heritage Hotel, nothing to fault whatsoever! Just FYI, The Westin was fabulous too – their bed (Heavenly Bed – trademark name) cannot be beaten in terms of comfort, tho this time they all were very very comfy!

Franschhoek country lodge was very good and ideally a second night there would have been good with one less night in Cape town, but not complaining.

This was also lovely. The room/suite was huge, clean and well appointed. Our only complaint was that it was on the first floor overlooking the pool area and therefore not very private. We had to keep the drapes closed most the time. The manager, Ryan, could not have been more accomodating. We told him that we were checking out early and he offered to have breakfast sent to our room or begin the buffet breakfast 1/2 hr early just for us!

The level of service was second to none. We really enjoyed our oceanview room and spent many hours sitting on the balcony looking at the sea

This was fabulous! Again, the staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much bother. We lounged around the pool and didn’t have too far to go for our lunch, the food was fabulous too. It really was pure luxury and again would definitely recommend anyone to stay there – 5* heaven!
