Deluxe Room

The Deluxe Rooms complete the country ambience with cosy fireplaces and views of the river. The Suites even have river views from their decadent Victorian-style bathrooms.

Garden Room

The luxurious, country-style bedrooms at Granny Mouse all feature king-size or twin beds and have balconies with views of the garden or the river. Each room is air-conditioned and feature flat-screen, satellite tvs. There are Family Rooms available. These contain 2 separate bedrooms and have lovely garden views.

Facilities

Wine tastings and specially prepared wine and food pairings can be provided in the atmospheric, and particularly well-stocked, underground wine cellar.

Partake in a night cap in the cosy whiskey bar and cigar lounge “Cigar” which offers over 30 single malt whiskeys from around the world.

Beside the Lion’s River is The Granny Mouse Spa offering a range of massage and beauty therapies as well as a Jacuzzi, Hydrotherapy and Steam Room.

Dining

Granny Mouse Country House serves breakfasts and light lunches daily, as well as gourmet lunches and dinners, which are renowned in the Caversham Valley. The Bistro offers a delicious casual menu in the family-friendly hotel dining room or out on the pool deck.

The Eaves is more up market, offering fine dining in a romantic loft setting or out on the balcony with expansive views over the rolling hills.

For a lazy lunch while enjoying the view, order one of Granny Mouse’s decadent picnic baskets, complete with fold up tables and chairs, to enjoy under a shady tree.

Granny Mouse was a surprise – with so much going on we had not looked at the trip or where we were staying for so long we had forgotten. It was much bigger and fancier than we had expected (we were thinking little b&b type place). The staff were ex ceptional, the food in both the bar/bistro and the fine dining were beautiful. The rooms are a bit dark (heavy timber and limited lighting) but very cosy and big. We watched the rugby in the bar and spent a rainy afternoon resting by the fire in the room –was probably our favourite.

We enjoyed Granny Mouse and just wandering about the Meander and exploring some of the shops and galleries, especially Lions River Trading Post, Nottingham Road and Piggley Wiggleys and I was able to do some shopping. David bought a couple of antiqu es as well and pipe tobacco. Staff at Granny Mouse were extremely helpful in accommodating our needs, even to the extent of installing a grab rail in the toilet for me to make things easier.
