Grootbos Forest Lodge is located in the almost 2 800ha Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Overberg Mountains, this award-winning lodge features a sophisticated design and has been constructed using local sandstone and sustainably harvested timber. Ideal for a honeymoon or romantic getaway, Forest Lodge offers only 16 suites and provides an intimate and elegant experience.
Explore the magnificent area on guided drives and walks through the reserve as you learn about the fascinating fynbos and delicate relationships of the indigenous flora and fauna. Go horse riding, whale watching, on a flower safari, or even a thrilling scenic flight over the gorgeous landscape. Grootbos has a strong focus on conservation and sustainable tourism, and is a member of Fair Trade in Tourism, South Africa (FTTSA).

It is an organisation dedicated to empowering others through ecotourism, enterprise development, sports development and education. All projects are replicable and scalable, with many generating their own income or becoming partially self-sustaining. From coaching soccer and computer training to clearing alien vegetation, each programme has been carefully considered to build a brighter future for the people who live here, as well as the environment. |
