In a way, we were lucky that we had to go to Rwanda early (due to the Nigerian elections interfering with travel). Frankly, we really enjoyed staying at Hotel des Mille Collines. Just knowing the history of that place made it special to stay there. We also took the extra time in Kigali to do some exploring on foot. We walked from the hotel to the Genocide Memorial, and I am so glad that we did go see the Memorial, very well done and informative. We also visited one of the local markets in Kigali. Interesting to see, but not all that different from the markets here in Nigeria.
