Impodimo Game Lodge

Impodimo stood out for its intimacy, peaceful atmosphere, and the incredible up-close elephant encounters at the bird hide.

From the moment I walked in, I was in a state of awe – Impodimo is breathtakingly beautiful. The suites are luxurious and offer the perfect amount of privacy. From the sunning décor, fireplaces and king-size beds to the private patio, outside shower and the private pool in the deluxe safari suite, you can't help but feel tranquil while fully immersed in nature.

Impodimo does not have fences surrounding the lodge – I loved this as it feels more authentic but nervous travellers or families with younger children might not feel as comfortable.

The lodge is child friendly. There is a small kid's room with a few games and dvd's which is not the best, but they offer educational excursions and treasure hunts which is a lovely initiative to make children feel included while parents venture off on a memorable game drive.

Impodimo contains a lovely hide which is large and spacious with modern furnishings and décor – I would say it is more of a ‘luxury hide'. Guests can take a stroll down to the hide where they can pear out at the watering hole (and hopefully see some game) while indulging in the homemade treats or a sun-downer from the mini-bar.

Whether a honeymoon couple wanting a romantic escape or a family looking for an authentic experience, Impodimo is great for a luxury safari getaway!

A gorgeous lodge with waterhole views, tastefully decorated in a rustic African style, and delicious food – a great luxury option for couples and families.

Incredible safari camp. The camp, the staff, our ranger and tracker were all perfect hosts for such an experience. Could not have asked for a more beautiful camp or attentive staff.

Impodino lodge was awesome.We saw all the Big 5 and more. Our guides were fantastic. Dinners were in fact the best of the whole trip. Fantastic experience and could very easily do that again.

Impodimo was the best, the room was very spacious and their service was just amazing, we enjoyed our drives with our rangers Patric and holyday, they were very knowledgable and we were able to take some amazing pictures, and the food was superb.

The safari was amazing could ask for anything better. The lodge, staff and of cause the wildlife were fantastic we managed to see 4 of the big 5 and we have to come back to try see the elusive leopard. We got some amazing photos of the lions eating and giraffe fighting.

All the good things you will read about this wonderful place are absolutely true. It is simply stunning. I have been to Africa many times but have never had to prise myself away from somewhere like this before or taken so long to get over the feeling of wanting to be back there!

We enjoyed our accommodation and the cuisine was excellent. Our ranger, Travis and tracker Holiday, hit just the right mixture of professionalism, knowledge and friendliness. We saw a variety of game as well as black and white rhino, many elephant, four big black-maned lion, a buffalo herd and a variety of bushveld birds. We also found a very glutted lion resting up and digesting his meal after having brought down a buffalo and her calf, which we also managed to locate in the bush. (We quickly got up-wind of that one!) A special treat was when a herd of about 30 elephants came to the lodge for their mid-morning drink at the pool. The staff even baked me a cake when they heard it was my birthday! Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable experience and well worth a re-visit, especially as the area is malaria free and not much more than three hours from Gauteng.

Impodimo Game Lodge was absolutely the high point of our trip. Faultless in every respect – accommodation, food, staff, game drives, rangers and trackers. Topped by the Big 5 including a night-time leopard hunt (successful). We cannot wait to repeat this.
