Overview of Jaci’s Tree Lodge

South Africa, Madikwe

Jaci’s Tree Lodge is an intimate safari lodge situated in the malaria-free Madikwe Private Game Reserve. It is a romantic bush lodge with plenty of subtle luxury touches and is perfect for couples and honeymooners.

Go on game drives in Madikwe (which is famous for reintroducing wild dog packs), relax in the lounge area which has a fireplace to warm the cooler winter evenings, and sunbathe at the small pool during the heat of the afternoon. Visit the Terrapin Hide, an area submerged in the middle of a watering hole and accessed by an underground tunnel from within the lodge. The hide offers a unique perspective of water-level view of the various wildlife coming to drink at the water.

The outdoor facilities include an open-air gym and starbeds, a ‘must do’ on one of your evenings at Jaci’s Tree Lodge.

Treehouse Suite

Eight custom-built Treehouse Suites sit high above the ground on wooden stilts, hidden among the forest canopy. Opulence at its finest, each room is a slice of heaven, featuring stylish décor with an African influence, complemented by modern amenities. The spacious, open suites immerse guests in the tranquillity exuded by the surrounding riverine forest. Take in the gentle sounds and glorious views of nature while enjoying a cold drink on the private suspended viewing deck, or while soaking in the freestanding bathtub.

General Facilities

Jaci’s Tree Lodge boasts an exciting safari hide submerged in the middle of a watering hole and accessed by an underground tunnel from within the lodge. Mark these unforgettable memories with award-worthy pictures of all your favourite animals. If you don’t have your own camera, photographic equipment is available to hire onsite

The suites are connected to the main lodge by raised wooden walkways suspended in the forest canopy along the banks of the Marico River.

After a day of game drives and wildlife spotting, cool off in the small swimming pool before enjoying a pre-dinner sundowner in the bar-lounge area. Or better yet, take that drink outside and enjoy the view from the Tlou Deck overlooking the watering hole below.

The large dining area in the main lodge is where guests may enjoy their fill of deliciously prepared breakfasts, lunch or high tea. Refreshing sundowners can be sipped in the cosy lounge area of Jaci’s Tree Lodge, while looking out over the dense African bush.

    Something that stood out to me was the touch of colour throughout the lodge and the very knowledgeable game rangers. The star-bed will give guests an unforgettable experience.

    My best experience at Jaci’s Tree Lodge was standing on the deck of Jaci’s outdoor starbed and seeing a herd of elephant playing in the nearby watering hole. I can only imagine how special it must be to spend a night out there!
