Overview of Kirimu Camp

Explore Africa's best wildlife destination at Kirimu Camp, set in the vast, open plains of the Serengeti and nestled among Acacia forests. With few other camps in the vicinity, you will experience an interrupted slice of the Serengeti – all to yourself. Home to the famed Big Five, your guided safaris will guarantee exciting game viewing.

Derived from the Masai language, Serengeti means ‘endless plains' and you will encounter cheetahs, prides of lions, astonishing bird life and the showstopping Wildebeest Migration. The best time to visit the Serengeti is between June and October to see the migration, about 2 million wildebeest, zebra and antelope migrate around the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem in search of fresh grazing. The treacherous river crossings are among the most sought-after moments where more than 1,5 million wildebeest charge through predator-dominated territory.

Relish in local tastes on a bush picnic or simply relax in the beauty of the silence. As the campsite is unfenced, the expert Kirimu team will escort you around camp. Fall asleep to the sound of lion roaring in the distance, or marvel at the carpet of stars visible – free from the city lights.

Double Tent

The guest tents are large – and have a shaded outdoor area where you can sit back and absorb the views. The tents each have their own en-suite bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet. For larger groups or families, extra beds can be arranged to accommodate everyone comfortably. Furnished with a lounger, desk and safari chairs, and complete with carved double or twin beds, each tent has 24-hour solar-power to charge electrical appliances. From your tent you will have 360-degree views and with light pouring in, this is a magical place to enjoy the remoteness of the bush.

General Facilities

The Kirimu tented camp is the perfect base to witness the Great Migration and explore the savannah terrain. Known for their brilliant hospitality, you can expect simple, stylish accommodation in romantic canvas tents. Your personal butler ensures that you have everything you need throughout your safari. Power is supplied via solar energy with a back-up generator, enabling you to recharge camera batteries and appliances. The lounge and dining deck is the perfect retreat for breakfast, lunches and dinners.

Kirimu has a set menu for lunches and dinner hosted in the large airy lounge, perfect for hot days on the Serengeti plains with a fully stocked bar for sundowners on the ready.
