The modern Cape Country Manor House is Knysna Hollow's focal point and a relaxed space where you can revel in authentic hospitality and delicious cuisine. The quaint coastal village of Knysna is considered the jewel in the crown of South Africa's Garden Route and well known for its rich forests, endless lakes and see-it-to-believe-it beaches.

Head to the marina-style Knysna Waterfront to sample the local shops and eateries or try the fine dining and boutique shopping experience that Thesen Island has to offer. Take a short ferry ride to Featherbed Nature Reserve and follow the gorgeous coastal and cliff-top paths, discovering ancient caves and sandy coves. And no stay in this town is complete without visiting the breath-taking and iconic Knysna Heads – two large, rocky headlands that loom over the storied channel between the Indian Ocean and the Knysna Estuary.

My family and I decided very last minute to plan a trip to Knysna just after new year. We were fortunate to get availability at Knysna Hollow from 2nd Jan – 6th Jan.
It's a beautiful tranquil property and very ideal for small children – there's a play park, 2 swimming pools and lots of space outdoors to lounge around. Other than that, there isn't anything else to do, but that was just what we were looking for as we had activities planned in Knysna and it's surrounds and wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle. The family suite was spacious with a queen-sized bed and a sleeper couch for the children. The bathroom was spacious too and the suite had a lovely area leading out to a small veranda. The only disappointing factor was the food – the food was presented really well but wasn't that tasty – it looked better than it tasted. Knysna has so many options so that wasn't an issue for us. Knysna Hollow is the perfect place if you are planning to do a lot of activities outside of the property and when at the property you mainly want to relax with a good book, soak up the sun and swim and catch up on sleep!
