Situated in a secluded section of the Western Cape's Cederberg Mountains, this old farmhouse has been converted and transformed into an intimate villa, surrounded by beautiful wilderness. Koro Lodge is specially designed for exclusive use for families, with special children's quarters and fun family activities.

Enjoy game drives in the reserve, mountain biking, canoeing and hiking, and return for a refreshing swim in the infinity rock pool. Go on guided tours to some of the 130 rock art sites nearby or enjoy a treasure hunt with the children. Other activities include picnics in the wilderness and fun games back at the villa, as well as spa treatments while the children watch DVDs or play outside. After dinner, you can enjoy some spectacular star-gazing.

Exclusive Use

The inside of the villa is elegant, stylish and features many handcrafted South African objects and furnishings. Rooms are decorated with natural, vibrant colours.

The villa has two master bedrooms, both with private terraces and uninterrupted views of the reserve. The main living area has a kitchen and bar, dining table and flat screen television, independent cable channels, a DVD player, music, games, air conditioning, under-floor heating and Wi-Fi.

Above this main area, there's a loft room that can easily accommodate four children of any age in a place that is separate, but never too far away.

Just outside the villa is another family living space, with an en suite bathroom that can accommodate two teenagers or adults.

Facilities

A large terrace surrounds the house, inspiring the name "Koro," which means "open vistas" in the San language. From here you can enjoy the most amazing views of the reserve. The small rock pool offers endless views of the surroundings, and is a great place to cool off or laze in the sun.

The fun-filled children's programme will keep children of all ages entertained with exciting and educational activities in the outdoors. Pre-arranged spa treatments are available at the Main Lodge, a short drive away, giving you a place to relax and unwind in a peaceful environment.

Dining

Your private chef will prepare all your meals for you at Koro Lodge, so prepare to enjoy delicious, hearty, homemade meals. You can dine either inside, at the large dining table, or outside on the terrace.

Enjoy meals that are prepared according to your preferences and even tuck into a tasty barbecue every now and then. If you feel like enjoying an extended morning excursion, then you can even take a delicious picnic basket with you on your adventures.
