Kwandwe Melton Manor is a contemporary and exclusive-use safari villa set within Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Located in the malaria-free region of the Eastern Cape, Melton Manor is the perfect safari property for families and small groups. Kwandwe combines seamlessly with a Garden Route holiday and boasts excellent big game viewing.
With a private safari vehicle, ranger and tracker, your itinerary at Melton Manor is completely flexible. Spend your days exploring the gorgeous reserve on game drives, big game walking safaris – tracking elephant, rhino and buffalo on foot – as well as catch-and-release fishing excursions. Back at the villa, you can relax around the pool with a good book while your personal chef whips up something delicious in the farm-style kitchen.
Since 1999, Kwandwe has been at the forefront of eco-tourism and development in the region, and is wholeheartedly committed to conservation. The reserve is a refuge for vulnerable species like rhino, cheetah and blue crane. Guests at Kwandwe have the opportunity to experience specialist activities like visiting a pre-school on the reserve, planting spekboom (a type of thicket vegetation that’s native to the Eastern Cape), and a soul-stirring Rhino Conservation Safari – a once-in-a-lifetime chance to participate in Kwandwe’s remarkable rhino-darting and notching program.

Comprising just 26 rooms split across two intimate lodges and three villas, the reserve offers one of the highest land-to-guest ratios in South Africa. For every night you spend at Kwandwe, you make a difference through your Community & Conservation Levy. Funds are split equally between the conservation and community projects and initiatives, and the levy applies to all guests 12 years and older. |
