Overview

Set on a hill with commanding views, Lake Mburo Camp is designed on the principles of a classic safari lodge but with an eco-friendly twist. Rustic and intimate, this is the ideal base to experience the wildlife and birds of Lake Mburo National Park.

Enjoy game drives and safari walks in the company of an expert guide who will reveal the secrets of the flora and fauna of the park, which is home to plains game including eland, zebra and impala that are only found in this region of Uganda.

Boat cruises on the lake will reveal a host of hippos and birds – like the African finfoot and white-backed night heron - that will leave you with a fantastic overview of this fascinating ecosystem. Macro photographers will enjoy trying to capture the colourful array of delicate butterflies in spring.

Ideal as a stopping point on a journey to the parks of southwest Uganda, Lake Mburo is a lesser-known gem in Uganda’s wildlife crown.

Nine canvas suites are built on raised platforms to maximise the views from their private verandahs. Spacious and elegantly furnished with hardwoods and leather chairs, they evoke the spirit of pioneering safari camps. Gauze windows allow cooling breezes in, while keeping unwanted creepy crawlies out, while a walk-in mosquito net around the bed adds an extra protection. The en suite facilities feature signature amenities, flushing toilets, hand basins and refreshing hot showers.
