Situated in the Samburu National Reserve, Larsen's Camp offers a truly memorable, all inclusive safari retreat. The lodge is named after Erik Ole Larsen, who defined luxury safaris under canvas. The 20 tents are located along the Uaso Nyiro River and are ideal for a romantic experience in the African bush.

The Samburu National Reserve is home to Africa's Big 5 and also many rare creatures, like the Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Grevy's zebra. The birdlife in the region is also prolific, and nature walks around the reserve will reward you with many interesting sightings. Return to the comfort of your tent, or the lounge, and relax in a comfortable, friendly home reminiscent of the safaris of yesteryear.

The river-front location for the camp is brilliant. Highly attentive staff and very comfortable tents, make this camp a must-go for luxury camping in Samburu.

The shop at the camp sells a range of art and sculptures created by the local Samburu people, providing a convenient place to buy beautiful gifts for loved ones while supporting the local community.

The bar area and lounge offer a comfortable, relaxed place to enjoy a drink or play a game of chess or backgammon.

Owing to the intimate nature of Larsen's, you'll have a choice between many scenic spots to enjoy your meals. Sit either at the riverbank, under a canopy of fig trees, or take advantage of the riverfront deck and its spectacular views. Sit around the campfire on cooler evenings or on the tree deck overlooking a watering hole. Enjoy an à la carte menu for all three meals of the day.As you enjoy dinner, you’ll be entertained by traditional Samburu dancers. If you would prefer to spend all day exploring the area on a game drive, you can also request a picnic basket and enjoy a meal in the bush, complete with camp table and stools. Sundowners are served every evening around the campfire or on the tree deck, while snacks are available by request at any time of day or night.
